Norton Jurying Requirements

ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must be current members of the Pacific Art League. Artists must have shown work in at least two (2) juried Main Gallery shows and/or the Community Sites Program in the medium in which they wish to exhibit in the Norton Gallery.
Jurying will take place on designated dates in May and November of each year, provided there are open exhibition dates in the subsequent calendar year. Additional jury dates may be scheduled if exhibition dates still remain open.

For Sculptors –3D Artists Only
Because of the limited Community Sites venues currently open to sculptors, requirements for jurying into the Norton are: (a) current membership and (b) have shown in at least three (3) juried Main Gallery shows in the medium in which they wish to exhibit in the Norton Gallery.

REQUIREMENTS
Artists must present a packet consisting of:
- Artist Sign In Sheet
- Artist bio
- Artist’s statement
- Resume
- Images (slide, digital or print) of at least 10 pieces in the medium in which they wish to exhibit in the Norton Studio.
ART SUBMISSION FOR JURYING
Candidates must submit five (5) examples of the work that are presented in a manner suitable for exhibition. There is a $35 jurying fee. All five (5) works must be:
- In the same medium (all watercolor, all charcoal, all sculpture, etc.). Each artist may present only one medium for each jurying. Should you be accepted into the Norton program, you must show work in the medium for which you were juried. To show work in another medium, you must present it for subsequent jurying.
- Related in style and theme. For example, all abstracts, all landscapes, all still life, all figurative, etc. Please note: Nude figures are not accepted in many public venues even if they are well drawn.
- Presented to the jurors as they will be exhibited. They must be framed or with finished edges, wired and ready to be hung for display, Paint must be dry. No portfolios.
- Recent work, completed with in the last two years.
Artists are not eligible to exhibit in two consecutive years, and must be juried again for exhibits in subsequent years.
If the artist is selected to exhibit, the artist must complete a Norton Studio Waiver must pay a Gallery Use Fee of $250.00 when the artist agrees to an assigned exhibit month. The fee is nonrefundable, except in the case of an emergency, at the discretion of the Pacific Art League.
The juror will not accept work that fails to meet the requirements listed above and you must have a completed Artist Sign In Sheet or your will not be juried.
